Helpful Information

A typical day at nursery

  • Children arrive, put their coats and bags on their peg and self-register, which develops recognition of their written name.
  • Free flow play and learning is both inside and outside. Pupils can select their own activities as well as choose from stimulating activities set up by the staff.
  • Planned adult led activities in small groups - teaching key skills and covering a variety of curriculum areas throughout the week.
  • Songs, rhymes and snack.
  • Phonics.
  • Story time.
  • Curriculum group time.
  • Tidy up time - all children are encouraged to be part of the tidying process which teaches them the value of taking care of the resources and their learning environment.
  • Home time.
