A typical day at nursery

  • The door opens at 8.45am and all pupils are expected to be in the setting by 8.55am when the registers close.
  • Children arrive, coats and bags on pegs and self-registration.
  • Free flow play and learning both inside and outside. Children can select their own activities as well as choose from stimulating activities set up by the staff.
  • Planned adult led activities in small groups - teaching key skills and covering a variety of curriculum areas throughout the week
  • Songs, rhymes and snack
  • Phonics
  • Story time
  • Curriculum group time
  • Tidy up time - all children are encouraged to be part of the tidying process which teaches them the value of taking care of the resources and their learning environment
